So I only earn 1000 a fortnight from work and get centrelink family payments. They've now all of a sudden been cut to 154 a fortnight I can't live off of 1154. My rent is 640 a fortnight and I have to fill up my car twice a week due to driving to and from work.
59,000 is apparently a cut off for the single parent threshold? How is that possible.

If you're only earning $1000 before tax per fortnight, that's only $26,000. Even if you're earning $1000 after tax, you shouldn't be coming anywhere near that $59,000 threshold.
I'd say there's been an error somewhere, you probably need to call or go in and speak to someone about it.
That’s not right
There is definitely an error somewhere on your account. Call them and tell them there is an error and you want it fixed and if it's not you want a formal review done (make sure they don't pawn you off to someone else, and don't let them 'call you back' because they won't, keep asking to speak to a supervisor if they 'don't know' or cant/won't fix it) good luck
Oh and ask for the receipt number for the call at the beginning. I have even resorted to letting them know I'm recording the call, they all of a sudden know what to do then 🙄
I think you need to call or see Centrelink. It's so complex I don't know how anyone navigates the system.
You might find info or calculators online, or it could be a child reaching a certain age as well.
Have you put an estimate in for this financial year? Do they have the right income for you? Did you earn more last financial year? Do you receive a lot of child support or has it gone up without you knowing? I have found that anytime my payment was reduced as a single mum it had something to do with CSA or they had the wrong income.
If your child has reached age 8 then you lose your parenting pension. If you have other children under 8 you will still receive benefits for them.
If this is not your situation then contact Centrelink and question what happened.
I earn $1,200 a fortnight, one teenager ( 17 ) , and I still qualify for $400 a fortnight plus 300 FTB .
They factor in the child support you are supposed to receive from the other parent in your payments. Maybe if your ex’s pay has gone up your child support payments are supposed to increase which means it should be supplemented by the child support you should be receiving.
You say you’re a single mum so the assumption I’m making is that you should be receiving child support too.
Can someone please confirm the cut of for single parent payment is 59k I earn much around 55k incl tax with 2 children and I have been cut off for ages.
