Breast reduction for medical reasons

Hi I am wondering if anyone has had a breast reduction for medical reasons? I have a strong family history of cancer and would like to have a reduction as I’ve heard it’s easier to pick up. I also suffer a sore back and shoulders 😔 I have spoken to my doctor but she was no help 😞. I just don’t know where to start pls help. (In in Victoria)
Thanks xxx

Is that a fact? I’m just not sure it would be due to all the scar tissue and lumps a reduction causes

The only realistic way of getting a breast reduction is a private plastic surgeon. You can just book a consult directly with them.
But, be careful to find out if it actually would be beneficial. My understanding was you’d need total breast tissue removal.
I am on the public waitlist for reduction (HH) and so far I’ve been waiting 8 years. The chances of me getting a reduction in the next 10 years is very low! I am in pain daily.
I get ultrasounds due to size although as I get older and breast tissue thins I’ll be able to get mammograms.

I’m in Tasmania but had a reduction in April. Your dr should’ve given you a referral.. look for a good surgeon . Find reviews & word of mouth . Expect to pay around $10,000 mine was a bit under. I did it privately and no private health . the wait is years for public.
