Please help I’m freaking out. I have had 3 letters sitting at my dads from the tax department saying final warning for overdue tax returns that I didn’t even know I had to do! Should I be worried I’m freaking out. It states jail time and bad fee I’ve done them tonight on Etax but idk if I should be extremely worried thanks

Stop stressing! You might get a fine at worse but it won't be huge. My friend had to do about 8 years worth and she's not in jail. They tell you the absolute worst case scenario so you hurry up and get them done.
My ex did 5 years at once. He didn’t go to jail. But I did finally get all the child support money I was owed!
I'm 6 years behind after my partner telling me I didn't need his estimate to do mine, when I knew damned well I did.
No letters from the ATO.
I rang an accountant last week, almost in tears and the receptionist was lovely. Must be a thing for people to just miss them in the moment, concentrating in survival mode and then pulling their head out of their ass to get back on track.
It'll be OK mate. At worst you'll just set a payment plan if there's anything owing.
Was it just last years tax return you had to do? If you have now done it don't worry too much, the worst will be a fine (but I doubt it if it's only one year not done)
Maybe ring them and get confirmation that they have it and it will alleviate your worries
My mum didn't do hers for several years in a row. She went to an accountant and he sorted it all out for her.
I'm sure it will be fine. Jail time and huge fines are more for the big time tax evaders not rhe average Joe who forgot to lodge a couple of times.
