Hi,
Just wondering what people do when they work and school holidays happen.
I have been SAHM for 13 years with the youngest 3 but thinking I would like to get back to a job and steady income (currently run my own business but it's dropped down in sales)
We are doing OK for money but would be nice to have extra so we can renovate our house.
We have my parents close by but they still work.
Eldest is 13 but very immature and wouldn't trust them to stay home.

Either myself or partner take the holidays off or school holiday care.
Combo of school holiday care, holiday leave, family, and play dates.
I am the poster
We don't have holiday programs in my area and no family to help.
Partner and I would only have 8 weeks leave combined with 12 weeks holidays to cover.
It's so daunting of not knowing how to cope.
If no FDC or vacation care then you’ll have to train them into staying home alone. Take some holidays. Pay the eldest even, they’re definitely old enough to be home in the daytime. set them up with fun things to do to pass the day. Make check in calls, if you have to go home sometimes or have a sickie day it’s still better than taking the whole time off.
I work casually as a carer in home and community care and don’t work during school holidays. I don’t get paid during that time but we budget for it so it’s fine.
If you were happy for a career change but still work on your business could look at becoming an intergration aide. School hours and time off for the school holiday. Courses can be done online also.
