I am desperate for tight shoulders pain relief, natural muscle relaxants, if anyone can help me with suggestions please.
My shoulder muscles are so tight that nothing helps, except for strong muscle relaxants from my Dr that slightly helps.
I didn’t realise until recently that it makes my vision blurry and causes nerve pain in my head and face, from being so tight.
My Dr won’t give me muscle relaxants often, only once or twice in a year,he said they aren’t good to use because they can become addictive, but I am desperate for something . so I am trying to find out what I can take that is natural and relieves this pain. I have only had them from my Dr twice, they helped slightly but maybe I needed a stronger dose, if there is one.
I take magnesium daily and do exercises for it and have masssges to help but nothing really helps. Tried physio and chiro. My heads always aching from them being so extremely tight.
Is there any other OTC muscle relaxants or anything else that is natural that actually works.
Tried acupuncture also, didn’t really help. Can you get Botox in shoulders, prob stupid question but who knows, I am desperate.
Thnx any suggestions would be appreciated. Is there anyone else who gets this also?

I get this when I'm sitting at the computer because my posture sucks! Around my shoulders, neck and back of head. Luckily I don't have a desk job so it doesn't happen very often. Are you at a computer all the time? Maybe you need to look at things that help posture if you haven't already?
No I don’t but my posture has always been terrible. It’s such a hard thing to correct after years of bad posture.
I have this to the extreme. It got to the point I could barely function. It took finding a physio who actually knew what they were doing to help.
Although it's mostly on me. I'm changing my posture, remembering to not hold my shoulders tight, identifying the problem posture & making changes, even though I don't like doing it. Get a new desk chair that forces good posture, don't look at your phone.
No supplements worked.
Nothing is going to work unless you make changes. I'll always have this problem but I can improve it.
Thanks for this info. Mine sounds the same as yours. I will go back to Physio I think and regularly. It’s my whole life of bad posture and habbit, will be a hard and long process to help correct it but hopefully physio will help with it.
Me too. It might take a few goes to find the right one. All were useless until one went yep....it's your rear neck muscles too strong, front too weak.... And we have gone from there. It's taken months though, and me identifying my posture problems and forcing change.
Go and see a good osteo, it will take awhile to repair change the habits but medication isn't going to fix the real problem. You need to listen to every bit of advice and follow it, its not a quick fix but will work.
Pure magnesium oil applied directly. This is the only thing that works for me. Magnesium supplements don't work, nor do muscle relaxers.
Try massage with dry needling. Look for someone who is qualified in sacrocranial massage. I've also found kinesiology useful to relax the muscles.
