House or pets

Its come to that point of, keep the pets, or keep a roof over our heard. Today, the man we got our dog off, helped us re-home him to a friend of his. Now to find a loving home for my rabbit. I'm feeling sick, my insides are turning. My kids will be heart broken.

House, absolutely house!
Your kids need a roof over there heads, more than they need a rabbit.
I love my pets and would also find it a difficult decision. The rental market at the moment sucks, and you got to do what you got to do!

We have held off until we can't any more. Been seeking a home for over 3 months. Every place we have been passed. Iv asked realtors why we keep missing out... They have all said pets. 2 large working breed dogs, inside rabbit. We are keeping one dog, as she's a rescue and was abused by her passed owner.

Maybe see if a family member or friend can take the rabbit for a while so your kids can still visit and help while they adjust. That way it does not have to be 'a permanent thing'?? I brought my kids a fish each in a little bowl to also help with the adjustment. So sad that the housing is just so unaffordable atm :( I would cry if I had to leave my puppy ((hugs)) and hope you get through this difficult time.

Only one person could take him and I said no. They are my best friend and I love them to death, but her child is not pet friendly, and she's also a Horder. All my family are ether in rentals with no pets, or have other pets.

House. The kids need to understand prioritises so don’t feel bad. The pets will be looked after. House comes first always.

I have a cat who I love dearly. As much as it would break my heart I'd rehome her if it came down to that or homelessness.

It's also in the animal's best interest too, my mums ex boyfriend is now homeless/living out of his car with their dog because he refused to let her keep it when they broke up and he's refused suitable accommodation because he couldn't take the dog. That poor dog's living conditions and quality of life is abysmal, she'd be so much better off with someone who can offer her the best life possible, not cooped up in a car 24/7.
