I think I have ADHD

Ok so I’m 99.9999% positive that I have adhd… I never really noticed when I was younger I just thought I struggled with listening or wasn’t very smart. I have a referral and I’m currently on a wait list to see someone about a diagnosis… just wondering if anyone else has dealt with this in adulthood and how it’s managed? I already take an SSRI for anxiety.. I am constantly overwhelmed and on edge and it’s affecting my life in a negative way. That’s just the tip of the iceberg. Would love to hear other peoples experiences.

My partner was diagnosed at 36. He was put on Riatalin & it completely changed his life.
The fact that he can have a task, focus on it & complete it without fighting his own brain the whole time was just a revelation.
There is lots of therapy available like CBT etc, you should look into it & see what works for you :-)

I'm a 41 year old mum of one, and on the diagnosis pathway right now, after struggling my whole life with things that now I see were all related to ADHD. I've been on anxiety/depression meds forever and they've just not done the job. I've had an appointment with a psychiatrist, just finished up some medical tests (as I have some health concerns that could impact my ability to take stimulants as medication) and I'm weaning off my anxiety meds - the plan is to trial an ADHD medication as soon as I'm off them.

There's a lot of us going through it right now, especially those of us who pass enough to get by. Good luck
