How do you get rid of them?! We bought our house last year and have had a constant struggle with cockroaches! I have put out baits, changed them every 6 weeks and even swapped brands but it doesn't seem to be working and it is driving me crazy! We have never had any issues in previous houses. I know someone who lives a few streets away and they have issues with them too, so could it just be the area? Surely there must be some way I can get rid of them for good though! I have cleaned and disinfected everything and there's no pet food or water or people food or scraps or rubbish or anything left out overnight but we still have them. I find them in the kitchen, bathroom and laundry. Sometimes I won't see one for a week at a time but then I see a huge one, so clearly they're about if they have time to get that big! Please, please help!

You will need to call in a professional.

They are probably native cockroaches or just the average house cockroaches if they are hanging around wet rooms. They usually come in through drains and the nest is likely to be outside somewhere. Cover drains with plugs or mats and see if you can find a nest outside. Buy outdoor baits and surface sprays. If you ever find German cockroaches they are a whole lot worse, they are small but get into your electrical appliances and hard to get rid of. There's stuff from Bunnings that kills them but it's expensive.
Sometimes they come in from outside. We had them when we lived in a bushy/forest area. They were constantly in the garden, we just had to learn to stay on top of it.
Even after professional treatment a couple would sneak in.
The tubes that you can squeeze stuff out from that last a few months and have a delayed reaction work well as the cockroaches are attracted to it, eat it and then return to their nest. Others in the nest then feed on that cockroach when it dies and it kills them too. You can buy it in supermarkets- have a read of them.
Get professional pest control in.
We had been getting it every year and during lockdown we didn't get it done, we have 100% noticed the difference with spiders, roaches and all types of bugs around.
