Hello,
Just asking what other single perents do if working evening shifts? I have a 11 year child and a small puppy... I am working 3 nights per week till around 9pm... I have no support network and don't know what to do... I can not leave my child at home alone....
I googled nanny services and night time sitters but it seems they get paid more than me per hour.... So why would I pay out more than I earn?
I'm at a loss!!
I reached out to our local community centre and they have no advice....
Can anyone help offering advice please? Thanks for reading and any replies. 🙏🌻

I'm sorry if this sounds horrible but you can't accept a job if you have nobody to care for your child in that time frame. It's irresponsible. Good news is she is not far from being 12 which is the legal age to leave alone. Have you tried babysitters? They will be much cheaper than a nanny.
I’d hire a teenager to babysit 7.30 til 9.30. You can leave your 11 yr old alone until then if they’re mature enough, it would cost you maybe $30-40 per day so still worth it.
Otherwise try FDC. They can be really flexible with hours and only $8 per hour after rebates.
Ask some teenagers though people you know. There would be a teen out there keen to earn 40 a night or something. As a stay at home mum in the same position, I would do it to earn some extra cash. It’s so hard when it comes to work and kids. There would be someone willing to do it that is trustworthy through someone you know.
Depending on where your located, there are some childcare’s that accomodate for late nights, meaning you just pay the gap. Other than that, is a job you can do from home? Or a job you can take your child too?
Depending on where you are located I might be able to help you out with babysitting
