Routines

Hey does anyone have a routine schedule written up for a 2 nearly 3 year old that I could have a look at please? Atm my girl is having a day nap, no certain time just when she gets upset/cranky and is going to sleep whenever she falls asleep, about 9ish... at daycare they have routines too so would like to make a routine. Would love to be more organised for her.

Not really written up but my 3yo was always up by 6.30, breakfast 8.30/9am, then park/walks/play etc, lunch 12, 1-3pm quiet time/sleep, 3-5pm is play, books, may be a movie, 6pm dinner/bath/chill time, 7.30pm bed.

I think it's really hard at that age when they are just getting out of needing day sleeps but still kind of need them, an afternoon nap can really throw things out of whack for 3 year olds no matter how strict your routine is. When my kids day naps got irregular I just started trying to keep them awake all day. Make the day shorter, bring dinner time forward and bedtime forward to help her make it through.

You mention daycare, so maybe find out what time she eats and sleeps there and base your home routine loosely on that. At that age, my boys would have morning tea about 9/9.30, lunch between 11 and 12, nap/rest straight after lunch. Afternoon tea after rest or between 2 and 3 (depending on when they woke), dinner about 5/5.30, bed by 7.

Yep, I’d base it off the childcare routine. It doesn’t have to be exact but some key similarities would help.
