My 14 year old daughter has acne prone skin, she had a large pimple on her chin which she picked, long story short, she ended up with what I initially thought looked like a cold sore, but she got more.... upon googling and seeing a pharmacist it looks like impetigo, or school sores, I DO have a GP appt for her but not till next week unfortunately.
My question is.... has anyone gotten rid of them / stopped the spread at home??
Im washing the area every hour or so with warm water and vinegar and getting crusts off, then putting a tea tree oil cream on it that I had at home (pharmacist said to keep trying that) then once throughout the day and at bedtime I'm doing the same but using betadine, they've already stopped the continual weeping
Has anyone had experience with them? Wondering if there's anything else at home I can use?

I have and you need to get onto it quickly. My girl was misdiagnosed for 5 days I took her back 3 times and ended up at hospital. Then she had an outbreak all over, in her nostrils, bum, it was so so bad and we were told it was because we didn’t get on it early. Get her an emergency appt
I can't get an emergency appt, we live rural, and the hospitals I can travel to are only seeing patients for proper emergencies 😳
Although she's 14 I've been doing all the cleaning of them and covering them so I know she isn't touching them and spreading them, I just hope i can keep them at bay until Monday when I'll phone drs again
Chlorsig ointment from the chemist!
Impetigo is highly contagious. My daughter had a bad case and wasn't allowed back at school until the weeping had stopped. They eventually healed after getting antibiotics and creams from the doctor. And even after they healed, my daughters blood showed a lingering staph infection.
I know you've said you can't get an emergency appointment, but at least get a telehealth appointment so you can get antibiotics from the chemist.
You need antibacterial soap from the chemist, wash in antibacterial soap. No baths, that’ll spread it.
