Leaving a DV situation

Leaving a DV situation

Leaving a DV situation

I know I have to leave. The emotional abuse is horrible and cruel. The threats on anything I love are escalating. And there has been physical violence.

I know it is going to be a very hard break. And once I start I won’t be able to be ever left alone with him.

Can anyone please point me in the direction of where to start.
From money to changing passwords to how the hell do I tell people what has happened.

Any advice is welcome 🙏

Go to the police & get a DVO. They will put you in touch with plenty of DV services who will talk you through the process.
Get a safety plan in place before you take any steps; leaving an abusive partner is the most dangeous time for them to snap.
If he's threatening your loved ones, tell them so they can be vigilant. They can also be named on the DVO if needed.
Get everything planned out in advance, and then leave with no warning.
AND DON'T TAKE HIM BACK.
