Really not sure how to address this, so please help me!
In 2018 my then 9 y.o son told myself & my then partner (whom he considers Dad) that 'Poppy' (a.k.a ex partners dad) that he had repeatedly touched him and coerced him to do unthinkable things.
Anyways, fast forward to now; he sees a councilor who specializes in sexual abuse victims once a f/n. Hes been off his prescribed Melatonin for around a year, he is sporadically wetting the bed still. I've spent a long time trying to get him into a stable routine, trying to observe his thought patterns, behaviours etc. Hes a pretty well rounded 12y.o.
He tells me this afternoon that hes been drawing gory things(I'm an artist), hes not sure why, but asks if I'd like to have a look at a picture. "Sure, why not?"
So when he retrieves his art book, flips the page to a drawing of a man/person, hanging from a rope.
Stupid me being shock reacted with "Jesus Christ!", after the initial shock, I've reassured him that I'm not angry at him (as that's what he thought) I explained that it was just confronting for me to see.
My best friend suggested some sort of Support Group for him, so that he knows hes not alone. I too was assaulted at a young age, which he does not know.

How sad for you and your poor boy. Maybe you could get him to see a child psychologist weekly. They would have some groups to recommend for him. So cruel that your poor innocent little boy has had to go through this because of some evil monster.
I would highly suggest art therapy, it sounds like he’s communicating his feelings through drawing which can be very therapeutic but with an art therapist he could be able to do this in a safe way :)
