Adult Braces

Hey all!!
Lets talk Adult Braces!!
I get they hurt, but is it unbearable?
How much did they cost? (I understand prices vary!)
How did you pay for them?
Any advice or must knows before I venture into this!!
Quietly packing it!!!

The first week or so it was painful, but not so much that I would be reluctant to do it again. It gets sore again when they do adjustments. A bit of bonjela and I was good to go. How long will depend on your teeth. Mine was about 18 months

Best thing I ever did. Had mine put on 15 years ago at age 25, and removed 2.5 years later.

Memory of the total cost is fuzzy but I remember it was something like $1500 or so upfront and then monthly payments of some amount until they were removed. Pain/aching for a few days after being put on and aching after adjustments for a day or so. Prescription Mersyndol was a lifesaver (the one you get with prescription has, or used to have, some sort of relaxing agent in it). Don't buy into anything like ceremic brackets (they're awful). You do have to change some things about the way you eat but it's not too bad.

My daughter is only 15. Recently had braces put on. Pain for the first week but refused medication. I paid a $1000 deposit and will pay the rest at $318.75mth for the next 2 years.

If I had the money upfront I would have only been charged $7500.
I pay extra due to the payment plan pushing it out to $8650.
She’s got rather complicated teeth, massive over crowding and over bite. Shop around and get a few assessments of needed but yeah they aren’t cheap. My stepdaughter needed them years ago and it was roughly the same price then too 🤦🏻‍♀️

Painful initially but bearable, maybe take the first week off work. I had to pay a 25% deposit then monthly instalments for 18 months. Total cost about $7,800.
