Medical issue with vaccine

Hi IM's
Just wanting to ask some advice from anyone that has had any professional advice on the covid vaccination. My 51 yr old husband is yet to still receive the vaccination due to having periocarditis, he has had blood tests taken for possible clotting and was cleared and also seen a cardiologist which confirmed one side of his heart is enlarged. After speaking with his Dr and Dr very openly stated he was no way having it himself and not really given a clear answer to my husband that it's safe or not having vaccine we are really concerned and confused if it is safe for him to have it or not. My husband is currently very stressed about this as he knows without it everyday life will be made a little more difficult, but is concerned 1 having an adverse reaction to it or 2 catching covid itself. I believe that with an existing condition makes him more vulnerable to the virus if he was to catch it, but he is more concerned of the possible vaccine reactions. Not sure really what I am asking, just wondering if anyone else has had to make this decision also.

You really need a doctor to advise you. If your current doctor can't give you an answer, seek a second opinion with one who can.

I’d seek a second opinion. One that feels a little more unbiased.

Get a second opinion from a cardiologist, not a GP. 2 of my staff with immunodeficiency disorders have cardiac issues currently being investigated secondary to phizer. 2 of my staff with existing cardiac issues have been fully vaccinated without issue. You need specialised advice. And then you need to make a decision once you have a more accurate understanding of potential risk. I work in allied health, disability assessment. We're now starting to see the long-term health issues people who had very mild covid now have. My 2 staff with secondary issues [a psychologist and an OT] say even with hindsight they'd still get vaccinated. It's likely their issues will be temporary though.

Thankyou for your informative reply. We thought we were going to have the answers to make the right decision after already seeking medical advice and have come out with really nothing. So I think a second opinion is the right way to go. I'm leaning towards better to have vaccine than not due to existing issues if God found he was to catch covid, but it is his decision not mine to make. Thankyo again.

You should ask cardiologist whether safe or not. Just ring or email and get it in writing.

I know of 2 people with cardiac issues that have had it and it wasn't good. I won't go into details or I will get accused of scaremongering. Get clearance from your cardiologist.

Hi, I have heart disease and my cardiologist (and multiple others as I asked for second/third opinions) all said it was safe to receive the vaccine and having COVID was more of a risk.

I was advised Pfizer as medically speaking they can't say get AZ due to the potential of clotting and it technically not the "safest", however from a heart condition perspective, AZ was safer than Pfizer due to the side effects with heart conditions and Pfizer.

I had it with no problems at all :) I am susceptible to blood clots however the ones from the vaccine are different to a standard blood clot.

My fil has several mini strokes after having AZ. My sister has auto immune and how has hives internally and cant breath well. My best friends father is in hospital with fill body paralises after his first shot and will likely spend the rest of his life in critical care. No one is coming near me with the vaccine

This is the horror I have seen too. I commented before about knowing two people who have had bad reactions. One is dead! One is still in intensive care and not known if he will make it. This is what's not getting made public because there's such a push for the vaccine. I wasn't even anti vaccine before this, I was pro. I just had not had time to get it. But now I will be making sure I am tested for heart health and clotting before I even go near it. I do want it but I don't want it if it's going to kill me, yes that probably means covid would kill me too but at least I can take measures to avoid that.

I work in an ED. Every day I see 30+ covid patients. I have seen 2 vaccine affected patients. 1 with pericarditis who will be fine in a week. 1 with a clot who was also fine. Lots of chest pain post Pfizer but nothing found on tests. I find these stories hard to believe.
