Daughter extreme vomiting

I’m after some people experience with their kids. My 8year old daughter has had 3 bouts of extreme vomiting spanning about 6months. It’s been going on once every 3 months. She’ll feel unwell in the tummy and then throw up - A LOT! Today she threw up 11 times in an hour, then slept 1.5 hours and woke up completely fine. This is the 3rd time this exact thing has happened-extreme vomiting then sleep then waking up perfectly normal. So I gather it’s not a tummy bug or it would go longer and with other symptoms. The last time this happened we took her to the GP who suggested an elimination diet and bring foods back in one at a time to see if anything triggered vomiting. We did that and nothing caused any more vomiting. So we figured it wasn’t an intolerance that was causing it.
Not sure of the next step or process except to go back to the GP-which of course we will do-not replacing a dr with Facebook opinions - Just looking for others personal experience.

You need to see a dietition to make sure that your daughter is getting adequate nutrition. This level of vomiting will be extremely dehydrating and could compromise normal growth. A suitably trained dietitian will be able to see if this is food or food-chemical related and trial eliminations while maintaning good health.

Get a stool test and check for parasites.

Might be more simple than it sounds, if it was something like an intolerance or digestive issues it would be happening more often. Could just be gastro, not every kid is in bed for days with it. I find the older my kids get the less affected by bugs they are.

Have you noticed any patterns in the lead up to these events?
Does it come on at a particular time of day?
After eating?
Before eating?
Is there an environmental factor, ie, being too hot?
Is she under any stress at the moment?
Things okay at school and at home?
Have you noticed any other accompanying symptoms, fevers, lethargy, change in appetite, weight fluctuations, issues at the other end like diarrhea and constipation?

I think I'd ask the doctor to run some tests, check her bloods and stool, maybe even some imaging tests to check everything is working correctly in physical terms.

If everything on that front comes back clear, I think it would be worth investigating the dietary aspect more deeply and possibly investigating the psychological aspect as it could be anxiety related.

As mentioned above, it may very well just be a phase of picking up bugs. Kid's this age aren't exactly known for thwir hygiene lol.
