Centrelink Parenting Payment

My partner currently works 40 hours a week and takes home $1000 a week before tax and i’m currently on maternity leave but will be going back to work 4 days a week doing 20 hours a week earning $580 before tax. I’m just wondering are we entitled to the centrelink parenting payment and how much would we get off the income provided as the sites very confusing.

You most likely won't be entitled to any PPP (parenting payment partnered) on a combined income of almost $3200 a fortnight.

You probably will be eligible for some FTB (family tax benefit) but it probably won't be a huge amount. That goes on your combined anual income which is roughly $83,000 and I believe the cut off is $100,000 (I may be wrong there don't quote me). Put your combined anual income into the online estimator and it should give you an estimation of how much you'll be eligible for.

I don't think you'd be entitled to any PP if you're both earning that amount

Nope. Why would you think you would get PPP when you are both working? 🤷‍♀️

My husband earns less than that and we don’t get parenting payment - just ftb a and b. Have you used the actual payment estimator? It’s pretty straightforward

We earn very close to what you have posted, we can get only 1 family tax benefit (I think it's B), only $27 a fortnight. But it pays for nappies. 🤷🏼‍♀️
