I am looking for feedback to starting a small online boutique.
Would you be interested in a boys only clothing range online? As a mother of two boys myself, I find nice boys clothes that are unique. What are your thoughts on this?
Would love any input you have

Maybe for a special occasion but certainly not regularly.
You are limiting your clientele because boutique clothing is a luxury many families can't afford so do keep that in mind.
I guess it depends on what you plan to offer and the prices you set.
I usually go to Industrie for my Boys clothes.. they have great stuff and the quality meets expectations of the price point. I’m a little reluctant to move away from brands I know as often am stung with pretty poor quality many online boutiques offer.
No wouldnt buy from you if it was boys only. You could have limited girls clothes and more boys but not nothing for girls.
Most clothes are cheap from China so no, also isn’t right just having boys clothes, I feel.
You need girls clothes to lure all shoppers there. I have girls so wouldn’t bother. If you had both, you’d get me looking through your stuff. Boys only, you are excluding so much business
Nope. My son is super rough with clothing, so no. I wouldn’t spend heaps of money on clothing.
Shoes however - the more
I spend the longer they last
No, but I am not the luxury target market you're looking for. I find fancy kids' clothes a waste of money, especially now my boy is 8 & wears his favourite branded clothes over & over. I also have a girl so won't look at a boys only site.
What I'd pay for is decent shoes. Especially shoes that have arch support. Especially for girls! Clothes are too easy to find. Good, affordable shoes are not.
There's loads of women's or men's only clothing stores, I know of several online/Etsy stores that only stock pretty girls clothes too, yet no one takes issue with that! So I don't know why people would have a problem with a store specifically for boys 🤷♀️
Im not sure it's a smart business move though, you're really narrowing your targeted demographic down to people with money to spend and boys to dress.
If this is going to be something small and supplementary to the income you already have, I say give it a shot.
If you want to actually make a living off it, I think you'll need to broaden your idea.
It all comes down to what you sell, who to, and where you would fit into the existing market and what your point of difference is. As said above, claiming to be different and unique but then bulk shipping from a foreign wholesale factory isnt it. Your claim has to accurately represent your product.
My biggest frustration as a boy mum is that awesome and affordable clothing just isn't an option. Especially when everything in fashion is gross mustards and navy. My partner and I have 3 young boys between us and would love more funky stuff for them.
