Abdominoplasty surgery - Advice

Hi, I’m needing to have abdominoplasty surgery to reconstruct after several pregnancies, birthing by c sect with ongoing health issues predicted if I don’t have the surgery. I’ve met with one general surgeon referred to by my GP, going public isn’t a option at the moment so will be going private. While I don’t have issues with the general surgeon or his recommendation, I’d like to hear from others who’ve had this surgery in Townsville for their experience or any recommendations. Who did you see? What was your experience like? Healing? Comparisons to a c sect at all? Any other information that you can pass on from experience? If you’ve had this surgery elsewhere I’d still love to hear your experience and any advice. I’m not worried about the scar but am feeling uneasy about the extent of the wound and any likely complications or healing concerns.
Thanks!

I’m in Nsw but I had it done 7 years ago and was so happy with the results! It actually wasn’t a perfect job, my scar is crooked and not 100% flat, I had to go back to get ‘dog ears’ fixed which is apparently common (sections of skin on either side that weren’t flat), but it is so much better than what I started with! I had a drain in for a couple of days afterwards, the first few days were pretty difficult and painful. I had to wear a compression suit for 6 weeks afterwards which was uncomfortable and difficult to get into, but results far outweighed the pain and inconvenience in my opinion. Difficult to compare to a c section, but recovery is easier.
