Hi all
I have a weird question about corns on the foot. I have recently discovered that I have what is called a smokers corn (,yes I'm a smoker) and apparently there's not alot I can do to get rid of it except quitting smoking.. it's on my heel so it's in a bad spot too according to the podiatrist. I am definitely considering quitting soon I'm just not 100% ready yet so I have to manage the pain until then. I've been on tramadol but had to stop as I had no appetite what so ever and now I'm pretty unsure as what to do for relief. Has anyone experienced this before? It's apparently really rare. No one seems to know much about it..
Please no judgy comments about smoking, clearly I need to quit! No one is perfect!! Please only constructive comments

I'm an ex smoker so I get it and this is not a judgment in any way but I am going to be honest with you.
This needs to be your turning point.
You're dealing with chronic pain and visible health issues that are a direct result of your smoking. I'm sure you're intelligent enough to know what smoking is doing to the inside of your body.
You may never feel 100% ready to quit, I know I wasn't - I just knew I needed to take action before it was too late. So I pushed past all the uncertainty and focused on my motivation.
My advice - go to your gp and discuss a quitting plan and also a pain management plan. Make sure you have some good supportive footwear in the meantime and alternating between ice/heat pack can help relieve discomfort.
I wish you the best of luck with it all 🙂
Agreed.
Third this. Youve been told the remedy, its not a medecine, its a changed behaviour. Its definitely time to get ready and get it done.
