Period delaying

Ladies, I have a big event coming up in a few months and I'm going to have my period for it. Sucks right?
I have read that you can get a script from the GP for a medication that delays it, is this actually a thing? Does it work?
I have no need for contraception so I dont really want to go on the pill for this sole reason of skipping or delaying 1 period.
Any advice?

There are a couple of options, but it will depend on your medical history and how far ahead you plan. Also no guarantee it will work. For me it just lightens my period rather than stops it.

No, it's the pill - there isn't another medication that does it AFAIK. You can skip a period by skipping the sugar pills. I take the pill for the sole reason of stopping my periods (I have period dysphoria).

Anti inflammatories work short term. I need to take them anyway for other conditions, but my period is very irregular and hard to predict, and when it does come it’s HEAVY. So my GP advised I schedule my usual AI cycle to start 3 days before a major event (in this case a 2 hour performance on which I wouldn’t be able to leave the stage).

Yes there is a one off pill that can stop it for that month :) Noreistherone or something like that.. can't remember the name exactly. But it acts as a once off delay.

Use a sea sponge. Also known as a beppy sponge. You can swim in them and have sex with them in. There is no string either hanging out. I've been using them for 20 years and ill never go back to pads or tampons. They are all natural . They are expensive though at around $6 each but they are reusable if you choose to keep them after use.

Oh and they are 5x more absorbant than a tampon..

How do you get them out though?

Squat and pull. Some of them have a grip hole . Takes a bit of messy practice but soon enough it becomes second nature.
