How do you get motivated to exercise? I'm 31 way obese and lazy. In my mind I'm wanting to go on walks, eventually join the gym but instead I stay home, nap and snack watching TV. I have no friends nearby to motivate me, I find myself making excuses to not do things. I know my partner wants to be more active and I feel it's dragging him behind making him unhappy, he works a lot so his free time we go for a walk but when he's not home I'm just not doing anything. I plan to be healthier, I think and plan out ways for me to accomplish this but then I go buy milk and bread and add a packet of biscuits I'll eat alone or a block of chocolate. It's a horrendous cycle I can't climb out of. I suffer from anxiety and get weird in social situations so when I think "oh I'll find a random local to help motivate media tend to put that off too. I know my lifestyle needs to change I just don't know how to.

This was me about 15 years ago but without a partner.
I had to start small. Like really small. Start by buying enough actual food and milk to last a week, it cuts down on trips to the supermarket to buy extras, meaning less temptation. Don’t deprive yourself of those snack foods but slowly start to spread them out.
See a psychologist and start to develop strategies for your anxieties and then work those strategies.
If you want to walk, start small. Around the block. When you’ve done that for a while and feel comfortable walk two blocks.
Be kind to yourself. Look after yourself like you’d want someone else to look after themselves.
I have been the same forever and I would go on diet after diet and then end up back on whatever eating chocolate every night. I was so unsure of how to change for good. I started lite n easy 8 weeks ago and am committing to it for the year. I eat a regular meal if I have a night out or a weekend away but always order and go back to eating lite n easy for each meal of the day. I’ve lost 9kg so far including 3 parties and 2 weekends away. I think part of the problem is the overwhelm of worrying about losing the weight which is caused by anxiety. You need to find what works for you. For me, I need to snack, and have a few treats which Lite n easy offers. In time you will want to walk and exercise but dropping a few kgs first will help with that. Concentrate on one thing at a time x
How obese are you? This sounds exactly like what I was like, had gastric sleeve surgery lost 80kgs, have soooo much energy now my husband says it’s like I have ADHD into everything all the time. It’s changed absolutely everything
