Just after some advice. I am now 41 and have been on the pill since I was 12, due to very heavy periods. I'm playing with the idea of stopping taking the pill, but don't want to fall pregnant. We are done having kids, and I know I fall pregnant easy (a blessing for sure but not at this stage in life). You ladies not on the pill, what contraception do you use? I want to give my body a rest from hormones so I guess condoms are the go until menopause happens. How did you feel coming off the pill? Any problems? Thank you!

Snip snip. Send your partner to get a vasectomy. Just make sure he does the follow up or you won't know if it was successful.
I know some men are reluctant but I'd reply it's a lot less painful than childbirth!
I wouldn’t use condoms, people are pretty slack about using them ‘in the moment’. I think you’ll find yourself getting the morning after pill occasionally.
I’d either get your tubes tied, or hubby get the snip. After either have had the surgery then come off the pill. But beware you may end up back on a hormonal contraceptive anyway. It happens all the time when people realise they can’t manage there period without hormones.
I’m 39, 4 kids. Hubby got the snip about 2yrs ago when your youngest was 3, best thing ever. We had been using condoms until then. I didn’t want insert, inject or take any hormonal forms on contraception.
Vasectomy's can fail. Implanon can fail. Myrena can fail. Condoms can fail. If you've been on the pill because of heavy periods, the only thing to stop them if you don't want any more children is a hysterectomy! It takes all the pain and worry out of the equation. And if you are 200% sure you are done with having children, it is the best option. Yes it's a 6 week recovery but it's so worth it.
I'm 6 years post my hysterectomy. I bled for 25 days out of a 28 day cycle for nearly 10 years in my late 30's. I also had mind numbing period cramps since I was 12. I could not go on the pill due to migraines with the odds of 98% chance of having a stroke. I tried Myrena, twice. Failed, twice. I never tried Implanon as the Myrena failed and I refused to try it. At age 42, I was also already a grandmother. It took 3 gyno's to sign off on me getting a hysterectomy at 42, but I got it and I'm not on any HRT as I kept my ovaries. I have not looked back. Best thing ever.
Go see a gyno. I had an ablation for heavy periods. There’s also medication you can take if an ablation isn’t an option. Get hubby to get the snip. The least he can do.
