Anxiety/panic attacks

Advice needed.
Has anyone had hypnotherapy for anxiety/panic attacks?
Im getting them constantly and have been having them in my dreams so sleep is very minimal at the moment.
I have been to the gp (they just gave me Medication and a health plan to go see a psychologist). I was on antidepressants for 5 years and will do anything to not go back on them. I will if nothing else works.
I can't work out why I'm getting them so frequently and so intensely. But having 3 little ones I really need them to stop..

That's what the medication will do. It helps you balance your serotonin so you're not in a constant state of panic and then you can be calm enough for the skills and strategies the psych offers to have a chance for them to actually work for the long term fix.

Did you see the psych? Having panic attacks in your sleep can be a sign of something more serious like PTSD. I would definitely follow up with the psych if not already. I think hypnotism can help but try and get a diagnosis first.

Having sleep affected by anxiety is part of anxiety. Your body is operating in high alert mode. Speak to your psych.

I have GAD and have suffered 2.or 3 panic attacks in my lifetime. I'm almost 50years old now. So severe, were my attacks i was admitted to hospital when one got particularly bad. I had them in my sleep too.. There was no escaping them. I had hypnosis in conjunction with medications and psychiatric care. It helped like u wouldn't believe. This was many yrs ago and although i still suffer from GAD at times, it has never again esculated to full blown panic attacks. I have now been medication free for 10years.

What helped me was counselling. A whole lot of it. First I saw a holistic counsellor who did hypnotherapy together with other therapies. Later on I went to a traditional counsellor and the combination of both and a lot of soul searching saw me feeling pretty normal after rough 10 years. Also helps if you get to the bottom of why you have anxiety. I use essential oils, candles, crystals, meditation and sunshine to help me keep in a good place. I know you feel now like it can’t get better, but it can.
