Second hand smoke?

Second hand smoke?

Bit of a weird one... I went to visit my sister in Ballarat this weekend. Her and her husband smoke... They are in their mid 50s, no little kids around etc.

However this is the second time around that I have come home quite sick. My asthma has flared up quite badly, I'm coughing and just all blocked up. Last time 2 times I went up there, same thing happened.

Could this be second hand smoke? My husband and I are non-smokers. This has never happened until these 3 times. Has anyone else experienced this?

Could be. Or could be allergies from fumes, pollen, dust, aerosols, in the Ballarat air. Since you have asthma, anything could be triggering it.

Absolutely!
My asthmatic son is hugely triggered by cigarette smoke, so much so that we had to move out of an apartment complex because he was becoming affected by the cigarette smells that were coming from the adjoining unit.

Yes definitely. Could be the sudden change in weather, both do it to asthmatics.

Asthma can change over time. I’m far more easily triggered asthma wise than I was 15 years ago.

Being around a smoker for a few days would leave me very unwell. I find I’m not as badly effected if it’s a short exposure.
