5 years. I was with my ex for over 10 years since we were teenagers, I never realised how controlling he was so when we broke up it was like my first taste of freedom and being able to act like an adult and make my own choices. Even simple things like buying my own alcohol or going to a restaurant I had never done. So I was loving being a single parent, I hated the thought of being tied down again. But I met my partner and found that not all men are monsters, you can have your freedom and a relationship too. I could never understand how people could just jump straight into another relationship after being in an abusive relationship, I really needed that time to find myself and work out what I wanted.

This was me. I loved the freedom to do as I pleased. Talk to and see any one of my friends I wanted. To try new things.
When my partner now and I got together I was hesitant and thought I'd loose that freedom. Couldn't have been more wrong. He's taught me what a real relationship actually is.

Roughly 2-2.5 years. After an abusive, controlling ex I decided to just be single and enjoy myself.
My fiance caught me by surprise. It was roughly 6 months after for him and I thought I was just rebound sex to him at the beginning (I didn't care because a good time is a good time). Both caught feelings and couldn't be happier.

With my ex for 17 years. Within 2 weeks I had moved on, no cheating, just right person, right time. Don’t regret it at all.

I was with my ex for almost 16 years we broke up at the beginning of December 2018 and I started casually seeing my current boyfriend towards the end of February 2019. We didn’t make it official until April. I wasn’t looking for another relationship just some company with an old friend.
