I’m looking for advice to start my young daughter on the pill so she can know when to expect her period. What age should I start?

I would avoid it if it's not for a medical condition and track her period instead.
The pill causes deficiencies in many important nutrients for growing bodies. They can also cause issues / disorders after long term use.
If it's only for the purpose of knowing when her period should arrive, try a period tracking app instead.
Hormonal contraceptives can do number on ones body, I personally wouldn't allow my developing teen daughters to use the pill unless it was to control an actual medical issue or they were sexually active.
I hope a doctor would not even consider it if this is the only reason! When I was a teenager I had a cute calendar and used to draw a little flower at the start of every period and a star for the last day. It helped me as I was a very regular 28 day girl so I knew when to expect it. Plenty of apps available too now for this.
Not a good reason to start the pill. It’s an unneeded medical intervention. Use an app on your phone. I use period tracker lite. Very easy to use, and sends me an alert.
If her period is irregular and she is young, that is totally normal and things will usually get into a routine as time progresses.
Don't pill up your young daughter for no good reason. And yours isn't a good reason. This is so not OK. I could never do this to my young daughter for the reason you've used. It's just lazy.
The best thing I ever did for myself was get off the pill! Use a period app instead.
Research Dr Libby... it’s imperative not to start on the pill until periods have been established for a good 5 years.. lots of long term hormonal implications...
