Mirena and bleeding

Hey ladies.
I have started seeing someone new after 15 years. Birth control was something I never had to worry about in my previous relationship. He was very abusive and we were rarely intimate. I have been seeing someone for almost a year now. Initially we used condoms, then I went on the pill in august, I had really bad side effects and my go switched my pill in September. At the end of September I had a miscarriage. I bled for 2 weeks. I had the mirena put in 31st October... I started bleeding 10th November and I’m still bleeding now. Is this normal? Would love to hear experiences and thoughts

Some women bleed continuously with the mirena.

I was told by my GP that the hormone released is similar to that of the implant (arm). I had continually bleeding while I had the implant and had to take the pill with it until my body got use to it (3-4mths) then I stopped the pill and never had bleeding again until I had it removed due to fluctuations of mood.

I’m not sure if that is something that can be done with the mirena or not.

So sorry to read about your miscarriage too and hope you’re doing okay x
