Sex whilst menstrual bleeding - Yes or No?

Sex whilst menstrual bleeding - Yes or No?

I've recently had the Mirena inserted to help with anaemia, I've been bleeding /spotting lightly for the last few weeks and have been told I can expect this to last for up to 6 months!

My husband and I are extremely sexual and sex is a big part of our relationship. The idea of going 6 months without sex is devastating!

Can I have sex whilst lightly bleeding/spotting? Is that a thing? or am i so horny that I'm just being gross lol

Is it messy, does it smell? IS IT EVEN A THING . (I'm a bit on the heavy side so sex in the shower isnt really an option)

help a girl out please! & How do I even bring this up to hubby to see if this is something he would consider?

It’s definitely a thing. But it’s definitely messy, for both of you and your bed sheets/mattress. You can put a towel down, but they tend to move and stains happen. It can also be a bit painful because everything is tender down there. You can get tablets from your doctors to stop the break through bleeding

Sea sponges are a god send for sex when bleeding. Neither of you will even know it's there, and there are no messes or spills.

I have never heard of this O.O

Ive been using them for 16 years. Plus they are environmentally friendly and all natural. Select Chemists stock them. They are also reusable for a few cycles.

I use a bath sheet.
I'm with you, arrrrgh it's gross but my partner doesn't care.
One rule I do have during my period is no fucking around (pun intended🤣), it's all over in 20 minutes at most. This minimises the mess for me a lot.

It’s completely up to you and your partner, if you’re only spotting it’s not likely it will be overly messy, you can just pop a towel down over your sheets to protect them. Period has kind of a metallic smell but again if you’re just spotting this shouldn’t be an issue, many people have sex on their period even on heavy days, and many don’t it’s all personal choice.

I’m not a fan of period sex mostly cause I hate the smell of blood (metallic smell). So if and when I have sex during my period it’s in the shower and it’s washed away and I don’t have to see it 😂

Sex during a light period is fine, I have always done it. It doesn't make mess. As long as it's not during a heavy part it's fine. I find I'm really horny during my period so I can't be bothered waiting for it to completely go away.

Personally I wouldn’t. The cramps are just too painful and it’s the last thing I want to do.

We do on my lighter days, not the first 2 days I am too sensitive and crampy. We always have shower sex on period days. No need to clean up after

Thats what showers are for my love. Have fun 👌 it also eases cramps and halves the time your period would normally be happening 🙌

I've had sex once while full on bleeding. It was messy and disgusting. Definitely not my cup of tea.
Some guys don't care about it and will do whatever, but I am way too far out of my comfort zone for that, plus the smell gets me.

Hubby and I get pretty frisky towards the end of my cycle while I'm still bleeding, and we just make out with some grinding and stuff. We find that pretty satisfying, and I always help him out in the end haha. Once I'm on the last day or so we normally do it, and there is very very minimal blood.

But I personally am a no go zone during the first 3/4 days.

I have just past the three month mark and finally the bleeding had stopped. It was only a little bit of blood (on the liner or when I wiped). We just put a towel under up to save the sheets.

My husband doesn’t mind...during anytime really 😂 but personally I find I can smell it and it doesn’t smell nice to me - hubby can’t smell anything!
Which suck as it’s I get quite in the mood during my period!
It’s a personal preference, I’d say try it, you might find you like it?!
