Hi sisterhood,
Would the banks give me a home loan considering im on centrelink benefits and work casually?
Recently separated from my children's father and walking away from our relationship with a block of land with a small mortgage on it and no other loans, I earn a decent income between the both a fortnight (couple of grand) with no other debt other then small block mortgage. Ex partner wants to keep current house and has no interest in paying out the difference between what the house is worth compared to e that the property is worth, and I don't want to make a hostile environment for the kids as with everything else, we are very amicable.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks 😁😁

No. Casual work won’t go in your favour because it’s “casual” and not at all secure. Centrelink payments also won’t be looked at as only FTB can be used. All the other payments can not be used. You already have a mortgage, single and have dependants.
Are you looking to build on that land?
How much equity do you have in regards to that land?
Possible. Lots of people on centrelink get loans in areas where the purchase price is low. Same goes for people with enough equity they aren't borrowing much
You need to get what you are entitled to regarding the other house, get some legal advice, you are not creating a hostile environment you are looking after yours and your children's future. Start there then discuss with a broker as there are options.
