Me ex and I went through a separation a few years ago, we did a court ordered financial settlement and had the shared care of the kids put into this. If we were to get back together, what happens to the financial settlement, etc? Does it still come into effect or is it void if we get back together.
I plan on seeking legal advice on this as well, just wanted to hear others experiences.

It depends if the financial settlement has been completed.
If it’s all completed, everything has been separated etc then it’s basically starting a relationship from the start, like a totally new relationship. It’s up to the two of you how you’d like your finances arranged and if you need pre-nups to keep assets separate etc.
If it’s not completed and your finances aren’t separated you probably would want to get yourselves some paperwork to protect yourselves. You don’t want to end up back in court repeating the thing from scratch, or one of you claiming fowl because you didn’t get paid out.
