Hello ladies.
I've been suffering from Anxiety for a very long time. I've gone to my GP and have always been too scared to go that next step to helping myself get better.
But finally now I have accepted the fact for myself to get better is to take that step.
I was told by my GP that this is something that I'd need medication for. Which is one you can highly recommend? Also, did seeing a psychologist help?
Thanks so much.

Seeing a psychologist definitely helped me (if I did the homework).
Your GP is the only person who should suggest particular medications. It may take a couple of times to get the right medication.
I would suggest goingtothe psych and discussing meds with them. Get a mental health plan from the gp. Psych has been great for me. The gp I find prescribes meds but the psych actually explains hoe theyre part of the whole treatment and then you can also check that with them along the way. Has worked much better for me than when i was younger and used to just get a script from the gp and that was the end of it.
Anxiety and clinical anxiety disorders are totally different so your medications for generalised anxiety will be different than someone who has full blown Panic Disorder ( brought on by anxiety disorders)
I have controlled Panic Disorder and have been hospitalised in the past because of it. It's an extreme, violent case of anxiety. As in violent, i mean violent mental turmoil that is hard to treat and causes complete mental shut downs - hence needing to be in hospital.
It's important you get on top of it now as it 'can' esculate and worsen in some people. But not all.
Ask your doctor what he/she recommends you take, as your condition is individual to you as no two cases are identically the same.
Yes medication def helps so take it but keep trying until you get the right one. For me I found celepram was the best with the least side affects. Don’t give up until you find the one and right dosage that suits you.
