Insomnia

Insomnia and I’m not talking the usual bouts of poor sleep, I’m referring to weeks on end of no to barely any sleep.

Anti anxiety meds don’t help, temazapan, melatonin at 10mg, antihistamine based sleeping pills all don’t work.

I go to PT twice a week, group classes twice a week and occasionally Pilates even though I’m literally dragging my feet from being tired, I’m just hoping it will help.

Meditation and therapy have been a miss also.

What has others tried?

I suffered YEARS from insomnia. I think it was 15+ years. Was on anti depressants until a different dr decided to try me on mirtazapine, while I hated the groggy feeling when I woke up it got my body in sync to sleep well. My understanding of the medication is it switches your brain off. It did nothing for my depression though and she wanted to up the dose but I chose to wean off when I was able to actually sleep through the night finally.
When i started it though I was also put on a very low dose of seraquel but that didn't last long.
