Bloating

Bloating

I've had bloating for years now and I'm at my ends whits. I've just decided to stop being embarrassed by it and see a Dr. I've been tested for celiac disease and glucose intolerance which I'm neither.
Had x-rays and ultrasounds which just show excessive gass and a full bowl.
Im going it the loo maybe once every 10-12 days. I can get bloated so bad that I looked 9 months pregnant. I can't exercise any more because it hurts I get bloated every time and it pushes against my diaphragm I have trouble breathing.
Has any one had this that can give some insight.
I eat healthy and drink lots of water. I'm over getting tests and not getting answers.
Dreading my colonoscopy in the near future.
I've been taking 3 types of laxities 3 times a day for 4 weeks now and they haven't made any difference. Any insight would be great. I'm getting anxious about it.

Intolerances don't show on normal blood tests so try an elimination diet and see how you go. If you've had everything checked and all good then it must be something you're eating? It could be IBS too which is usually aggravated by a food intolerance so the elimination diet is worth it for you to see if anything changes, then go back to your dr.

Get movicol and follow the directions for disimpaction program, it’s 8 sachets a day for the first 3 days and then slowly reduce it but you may need to be on it for a few months while the bowel shrinks back into place and heals.

Okay so this was me, ended up in emergency twice because I couldn’t get through waiting 10 hours for the millions of laxatives i had taken to work, I was in agony. The diaphragm, I’ve had it all, they thought I was having a heart attack, but I knew it wasn’t that. They did X-ray and same, saw I was full,of shit, literally. I take medication that exacerbates my constipation. Anyhoo, this what I found works, work with me, it sounds strange....
I work full time, so if I can do it anyone can.
I literally started sitting on the toilet 10 to 15 minutes a day, three times a day.
Morning at home, lunch time, night time.
To start with....Sometimes just wind, sometimes pebbles, but you know what’s happened over time?
I actually get the urge to go more.
I actually have more feeling in my bowel, if that makes sense.
To start with, I was just sitting there.
Now, I sit there and I can feel if something needs to come out, it might take a little while but I get it out.
Sometimes I now get a feeling to go and it comes out like a normal, big poo.
Since I started this, my bowel opens more, I have more feeling with what’s going on up there, it’s like I’ve opened the flood gate.
I go often now.
Like you, I drank plenty of water etc. but the mind and the bowel weren’t working together.
I literally don’t go a couple of days without getting anything.
It’s like I had to retain my bowel.
With my medication, I still get the pellets sometimes, still comstipated somewhat, but I’m always getting something, it’s always moving, then I’ll do a decent sized one.
I hardly ever got the feeling to go before.
It’s a pain now, like I’m at work and need to shit lol
It’s regular now, I know when I need to go.
It’s not perfect, but it’s a hell of a lot better than before.
I don’t know if this medically makes any sense, but what do you have to lose (except shit lol).

My mum has similar issues. She’s currently taking normafibe and has cut fructose out of her diet and has noticed a huge difference. An elimination diet is definitely something worth doing and the other posters advice about sitting on the toilet also sounds worth a try

I’ve been through hell the last year and half. I had a colonoscopy and all was clear. I find probiotics helps so much and a yakult every morning. I also try to cut back on sugar. I had the camera down my throat which showed chronic gastritis and helicobactor. All these were negative in others tests until I had the camera down and biopsies were taken. They also said I am probably gluten intolerant and to stay off gluten. I try to keep away from gluten but it’s hard. I def recommend the probiotics I take the gut restoration one out of the fridge and a yakult every morning and I go to the toilet more frequently taking them.

To put your mind at ease, there is nothing to fear regarding a colonoscopy. Super simple, and easy.
I had that, plus an endoscopy recently for gut issues.
I've now been referred to a dietician.
Good lUck!

Colonoscopy is actually ok. you don’t know anything and it’s best to rule out any nasties. The prep also can be ok if they give you the right one. Aparently there is one that tastes like chalk but when I had mine, they gave me one that was a lemon tasting prep. It was only a small bit with half a glass of water. So make sure you ask for the nicer one as there is 2 different types. I found it fine to take and found the colonoscopy fine, didn’t know a thing and it’s all over wait. Yes I was freaking out prior at what they would find but it all came back clear just a few polyps. I did how ever have chronic gastritis and hpylori bacteria. I am trying to get the gastritis under control and the hoping the hypylori has gone but feeling much better than I was and starting to go frequently now with probiotics. Make sure you get a good probiotic to take daily.
