Fallopian tube removal (Not ovaries)

Hi ladies.
Could I please have your experience of Fallopian tubes removal with your ovaries kept. I wanted a tubal ligation (as I am over 40, I am done having kids and have high risk pregnancies so this seemed to me to be the best option). But when I saw the doctor at the hospital I was offered a removal of tubes instead. I am a public patient so that was the only option I was given. When I questioned why not a ligation, I was only given an answer of ‘this way is better’. I’m just not sure how it works and call me silly but in my head I’m thinking ‘what are my ovaries attached to?’. I would just like others experiences with having this procedure done. Thanks

My mum had tube removal. No issues. My mum falls pregnant extremely easily.

My sister and I both had clamping. If it was offered removal I probably would have gone with that, as there is a higher risk of ectopic pregnancy. My sister had one ectopic pregnancy.

Your GP should be able to answer these questions for you.

I had tubes removed during last c-section 5yrs ago (aged 30). Absolute relief that there is zero risk of failure, but periods ever since have been a horror story despite GP and ob claiming it won't effect periods. Am now looking into an ablation to stop the monthly murder scene
