So at my last skin check, (which reminds me I'm overdue for my yearly skin check!) The Doc said hey has anyone mentioned you may have Rosacea?! I've always had skin troubles and of course was told "you'll grow out of it" well fast im into my mid 30's an hey! I haven't grown out if it! My skin has actually gotten worse. So Doc have me a brief rundown, printed out some info sheets and gave me cream to try. I used the cream thought it was working then thought my skin was getting irritated so slowed up on the use of the cream and then stopped using it altogether. I bit the bullet and tried 2 places for facials hoping I would get a plan of attack. I really researched the places I went and I just felt like they both were kind of upselling their products that they use. So I felt kind of defeated, like who to believe if they all promise their certain brand will be the fix! Like how do i know where do i start, where do i invest my money in?!!
So this is a long way to ask do any of you ladies have Rosacea and what has helped you find some relief and what not to do? I have bad scarring and texture issues too. I get epistles that rarely can be popped safely and are so sore and stay bumby for ages.
I feel like a sook but my skin really gets me down, like to the point that I sometimes dred facing people in public. I feel like I look like a stereotyped I know, but drug addict dirty person that doesn't care for their health! I know i should go back to go and get a refferall to dermatologist and that too scares me I think what if I can't afford the regime and even though I could afford it feel bad for using money that could be spent on famoly/kids?! Plus the initail doc said oh derm. will put you on meds which have side effects I would try to avoid that! I'm doomed for bad skin forever!!! Lol

See a dermatologist. They donโt make a profit selling creams and potions, so there is nothing in it for them to up sell.
Plus they are medical professionals for skin.
Definitely see a dermatologist, the consultation is usually the most expensive part of that but you should get some of the fee back from Medicare if you don't have private health.
I'll also suggest that you start a bit of a lifestyle journal to try and identify some of your triggers. For me, some foods are a trigger, mostly highly acidic or spicy foods and caffeinated drinks (all the things I love in other words ๐๐ญ). My absolute biggest triggers are heat, especially artificial heat from electric heating and alcohol, I had two glasses of whiskey tonight and had an immediate flare up (we're talking face, chest and upper arms).
Good luck
I developed rosacea in my forties. I too had combination sensitive skin all my life. Doctor gave me some antibiotics which cleared it up. I find the sun flares it up and when my skin is dry. I have tried every cream and spent many a dollars. The best I find that maintains my facial skin is the sensitive pink range in the Sukin brand. The night cream is so soothing.
