I think mine used to go to bed at about 7.30 to read, with lights out at 8. When lights went out they would listen to music quietly or an audio book until they fell asleep, usually by about 8.30.
Bed 7 to 7.30 and we read and talk, lights out around 8, usually goes to sleep by 8.15. If she cant switch off (i read first, then ni say try, relive a moment or think about tomorrow etc) but sometimes she really cant as its too early so i give ipad with relaxation music or audio book, closed so no screen in eyes, for maybe another half an hour thats all it takes.

My almost 8 year old goes to bed depending on how long he can stall for... but the actual time is 7:30pm.
Sleep, however, is entirely different. It's 9pm & he's still chatting to himself in the dark. Grrrr!!
