What to do?

Hi I'm after some advice & information if anyone who has worked as a FIFO housekeeper... I have been offered a position at a small camp of 25 personnel as a housekeeper 2 weeks on 12hrs per day with 2 weeks off.
The money seems good before tax, but after tax is taken out I would be left with $3200 for the month to pay all living expenses rent, insurances, food, fuel, electricity, phone, internet, gas, & have to allow travel money as the fly out destination is a 5 hr drive!
Will it be worth the sacrifice?

I'm a single parent to a 14yo trying so bloody hard to make our future better financially - it would be a huge sacrifice being away from my child for 2 weeks at a time but we would be able to facetime & talk each night I was away ( my child would be in the care of my mother while away in our home that we rent), I have been working as a personal carer for the past 10 years & the shift work of that alone is hard meaning for 6 days at a time I sometimes only see my daughter half hour in morning before she goes to school if I'm on arvo shift as she is in bed asleep by the time I get home & just does not pay enough to point my car needs repairs & there is nothing left to pay for these repairs & for first time since I have owned a car I cannot afford the repairs & registration on top of living expenses it has completely destroyed me I feel I have failed terribly even tho I have cared for a living & worked hard it's just not enough!
What to do??

I thought mining paid a lot more than that in net. My daughter who is 24 works in the mines as kitchen staff and makes that in net every two weeks. She works 12 hours a day 4 weeks on , two weeks off.

Working in camps and not onsite is a different wage, no where near as good as being onsite

You know you get paid on your r and r week.
What’s the annual salary?
Utilities I think get about 65k.
You save money when you’re there because they feed you, no petrol, utility bills etc but not sure your agreement with family on those at home.

You should clear just under 1000 a week, so just under 4,000 a month.

I’ve thought about this too, I’m a single mum to one, but I get that salary working in town.
I’ve actually thought about driving the trucks, that pays much better.
Maybe take the utilities role and see if you can make some connections and get into the mining side, apparently they like women drivers because they’re easier on the vehicles.
It also pays much better and would be worth your time.
Jut a thought.....

You would need to minus all your expenses rent, insurance, electricity etc and see what your left with.
Me personally I wouldn't be leaving an only child, especially a daughter, for 2 weeks at a time. 14- it's a tender age. You said you struggle with your current job not seeing your daughter for 6 days, 14 is more then double that amount of time.
In the long run, the money is only great for soo long, the work load takes its toll on you physically and mentally not to mention the strain it could put on your relationship with your daughter.
Have you cleaned before (I mean professionally) it is a demanding role? 12 hr days, I hope you have ALOT of stamina.
Professional cleaning pays good money believe it or not and you could stay local. Residential cleans are on average start at $40 per hour! (bare in mind if you work for someone else you won't see the $40 as they will take there cut. What I'm getting at, is it's a cheap way to set yourself up making more money but staying close to home.

Doesn't seem worth it.
