Jobkeeper entitlement after being laid off

Jobkeeper entitlement after being laid off

I'm currently employed and receiving Jobkeeper.
However, I have managed to pickup a second casual job, that I'm hoping will lead to full time employment by the end of the year.
This second job is now starting to clash with the hours I work in my first job. I have approached my first job to ask if I can change my hours to give me enough time to drive to my second job. They have agreed but said this is not something that they can guarantee they'll be able to accomodate into the future.
My question is about entitlement to jobkeeper.... if my first job lets me go and I stay at the 2nd job, will I still be entitled to jobkeeper through them? I've tried googling it, but not finding what I'm looking for. Even links to pages would be great.

I'm not sure, but I don't think so. There's been controversy about people being ineligible if they've been with an employer less than 12 months.

If you're still getting Jobkeeker your current employer isn't likely to let you go. The government is paying your wage. They probably won't pay for your replacement.

Your best bet is to Google eligibility rules & look for the official information.

Ring the ato and ask them. They’re actually really helpful and best to get the right information

JobKeeper is to link you to your existing employer when Covid hit. So that when things pick up you can just get straight back to work. You move and you don't qualify, neither does your new employer. Keep communicating with both your employers and keep them both in the loop. Your second job is casual, they have nothing to make them keep you. The first has a vested interest in keeping you - they've invested in you when you started and were trained, etc; and they get the subsidy for keeping you. As a casual no-one is guaranteeing you anything. That's why everyone wants to be made permanent - more job security. There are a lot of people looking for the two jobs you've got - be careful not to put yourself in a position that taking someone else is easier than keeping you, and you end up with no job...
