Hi everyone, I’m currently breast feeding for the first time and my chest is so sore! Not my boobies but my actual chest like it hurts to push between my ribs etc... what am I doing wrong and how can I help the pain? Thanks

This is an issue for the doctors, sounds like pain of your lungs and organs relaxing and going back to where they were before you were pregnant or a chest infection. I doubt very much it’s a breastfeeding issue. I have had 5 babies and breastfed them all and have had the same issue each time. Always resulting in slight infection fixed by a course of antibiotics
I have spoken to a dr about this and I got the reply it’s from breastfeeding and as a first time mum I thought it was really strange, I’m just finding my chest sore and tender. Hurts to breath sometime also 😫
I’m honestly baffled that your doctor can put breastfeeding as a cause for it to hurt for you to breath. I would be booking in to see a different doctor. Explain the chest pain and ask them to have a listen to your lungs.
If you don’t mind me asking, what was it that you had as you said you had the same thing ? I defiantly will be booking into see someone else.
I just wanted to interject, if you're getting no help from your GP then speak to hospital (maternity unit), the Australian Breastfeeding Association and/or your MCHN. It doesn't sound like something that would be related to breastfeeding, but I only have experience of feeding my one and only baby, and the experiences of a few friends to go on.
I am a mother of 4. I would get in contact with you maternal health nurse and see if she can hook you up with a lactation consultant. She should also have some idea of what's going on. She may also be able to refur you to a physiotherapist specialising in women.
I had horrible pain in my chest like you describe when I had issues with my Gaul bladder. I suggest you either see another gp or request a scan/bloods to check it out. I was blown off when I had the pain from my Gaul bladder to the point my liver failed and I nearly died so please keep pressuring them to help you just incase.
Best of luck
So I went to the dr today (different dr) just said it’s an inflammation of the ribs and chest and it will go away on its own in about 2 weeks or so he was extremely rude.
