ocd with a child

Hi mums
I'm in need of some advice as I'm stuck on what else to do.

A few months ago my partner and 2 children moved put of our rental and moved in with a family member as we were due to move to another town. Since early Feb my child has been showing wings of ocd. She will wash her hands a million times a day cause she thinks she's touched plastic. Sometimes will even not dry her hair or face because she doesn't want threads of the towel to go into her mouth. She won't eat anything if her you get sibling puts their hands in her bowl to have some of what she is eating ect. And also thinks she's dying over small little things like eating from a certain plate or spoon. I'm trying so hard to be patient and understanding and I know I'm not her position and don't know how it feels. But I just don't know what to do anymore or where to go to from here.

Going to book an appointment with gp this week and go from there

You need to get a referral from your GP for a paediatrician and child psychologist.

My son was doing similar around 10 years old and is mostly free of symptoms now.

Going to book an appointment with gp this week and hopefully can get in to see someone. How old is your son now? Mine is 11. That gives me hope that she'll get through this.

As above see your gp, but I just want to let you know as a child I had terrible OCD, I ate of paper plates and wouldn’t touch food (would eat straight out the packet like a dog) and washed my hands until they bled. After some help I was fine by my early teens and live a normal life now, I still get some thoughts but I’m able to control them well.
