Selfish partner

Need advice..
its my birthday today I am a mum of 3 and a small business owner, I am so stressed already about business with the covid 19 pandemic that already I was stressed out today.
My partner not the father of my children who also works at the cafe, went drinking after work and has arrived home drunk and thrown my present as I said I did not want it as he was drunk and should have been home, no dinner has been organised and he said we went out for my bday dinner last night ( which I paid for)..he is now passed out on bed at 6pm!
I feel worthless if he can not put me first on my birthday..will he ever? We have been on and off for 3 years because of the way he treats me...am I over reacting??

Firstly happy birthday beautiful... whilst your day has been shit house I hope this year turns around and gives you an abundance of happiness and blessing...

Secondly nope if he tears you badly and if he doesn’t put you first on the day that’s about you. Why do you put yourself through that. Get yourself the gift of empowerment to say you deserve more xxx

He’s showing you who he is and who he wants to be. Now you have to believe him and act accordingly!

I don't see this as a huge issue because you celebrated your birthday with him the night before, who cares who paid, you're a couple. He bought you a present the following night and you still weren't happy. That's probably why he passed out at 6pm, not just because he was drunk, ( many levels to drunk, from tipsy to smashed) . It's possible he put himself to bed knowing it just wasnt worth the fight. And it's not.

I don't think this is about your birthday. The red flag is the "on and off for 3 years because the way he treats me" comment.. you're unhappy and deserve better just going by your last sentence.

Chuck him!!! You're a single mum, you've been through enough to know that the only one that gets to stay earns their place and makes your life brighter, and he sure isn't. No freeloaders. Boot him!
