Child support debt recovery
Has anyone taken their Ex partner to court for unpaid child support?
Was it successful or unscussedul?
How much was owed?
My ex partner has been avoiding paying child support for 2 years, because he is self employed.
Child support have exhausted all ways of collecting and will not proceed with court because the amount is only $7230 at current.
I have been thinking about taking my ex partner to court for the amount owing instead but am unsure my chances of success.

Have you been given a quote from a lawyer to take legal action? This is where you need to way up is it worth it in the long run..... the longer your ex messes you around in the court system, as in not showing up, not providing requested evidence, the more it's going to cost you. That $7k will very quickly turn into $2k.
Another option is to dob him into the ATO for tax evasion. Child support may be ignoring your pleas but the ato won't put up with him not paying his taxes!
Yes, try the ATO. If he's ripping them off they will tear him up, my ex was done by the ATO and CSA was automatically backdated, he owed me thousands. Make sure you are CSA collect too or if previous years get amended you won't get anything. Don't mention child support when you report him with ATO, just what you think he's earning and anything to support your claim like holidays, gifts, social life etc. Also if you know he falsely claims things for business use add that too.
Thank you for your response, how would I put this to the ATO?
What should I say?
I wouldn’t have a clue on what to say!
You can report fraud on their website, it's a form so its really easy
At this point it would cost you as much as you’d get, even with the courts involvement there are ways to drag it out.
Go the ATO way the others suggested.
We got back paid $30000 in CS because my ex mistakenly believed they couldn’t collect after my son turned 18, so he put all his tax returns in at once a week after his 18th birthday 😂😂😂
My partner and his ex, debt was almost 60 000. ( no longer with this man but it makes reference easy)
The Ex took my partner to court, court ordered partner to pay, partner liquidated all his assets, put money into his parents name, declared himself bankrupt, partners ex, got stuck with all legal fees, which was more than 8000 partner continues to dodge payments as he works for cash in hand, and does not declare any income. He also does not get payments from centrelink.
Be careful what you wish for, sometimes things can backfire.
Also child support has the ability to garnish wages, take it straight from his pay
