Hi, I’m wanting to see if anyone has given their child growth hormone injections? Pros and cons? My son was born at 27 weeks weighing 1kg. He is quite short for his age. ( he’s 12) It’s something that really bothers him. Do you have to see a paediatrician? Or do doctors do this? Thanks in advance.

I’d start with a paediatrician first and see if there is any underlying conditions which have effected growth outside of the early birth and weight. They will advise you from there.
Growth hormone injections need to be done several times a week for potentially a number of years. It obviously come with its risks and you’d need to have a good discussion and way up the pros and cons for the potentially high gain.
