I'm Tasmanian.
The other day it was about 18 - 20 degrees. I stayed in my car while I waited for my aunt, after about 10 minutes I was so uncomfortable i had to get out of the car.
It's unfathomable to me that people still leave babies and small kids in the car, time after time of being warned of the dangers.
Call police next time. People like that should be fucking charged. And yes, I have kids. And yes, it's pain to drag them around. But for fucks sake people- if you can't be bothered bringing your kids with you to the shops, then rethink your whole approach to life.
RAC prioritise kids and pets left in cars, so you could ring police/ambos and RAC next time it happens and see who comes first. Obviously if this was going to take too long and the child was showing signs of heat stress you would smash the window yourself. Even in winter here it is still mid twenties but with a cool breeze which makes people think it's cooler and ok to leave kids in the car, as soon as the car is shut up it heats up a lot.
