Corona virus

So the media have succeeded and I am now slightly alarmed with the Corona virus. I am only 25 but overweight and don't eat to healthily so worried it's going to get me good. I also have a 3yo and she refused to eat veggies so I'm worried she will get it good as well. Am I stressing over nothing? I wasn't worried at first but now my anxiety is peaking!

Should we all be more careful? YES

The symptoms for most people will be no worse than having a cold. Most cases of covid have been treated at home, just like you would a cold and children seem to do really well with covid.

Unless you are someone who has other medical issues (immunocompromised/disabled/frail) you have very little to worry about other than the inconvenience of being stuck at home while the virus passes.

It turns to pneumonia so its worse than a cold. I don't like the panic as much as the next person but I also don't like the down playing of it, that is when people will still go to work or send kids to school if they think it's just a cold. This is very dangerous for a lot of people, we all need to do our bit to take it seriously until there's a vaccine.

I am too, especially when I saw Italy's death rate was 6%. That shocked me but I have since found out is probably because Italy has a high percentage of elderly people. I'm worried for my mum and my in-laws, my mil is so paranoid about it so its probably rubbing off on me. I just keep telling myself in a few years it will be a distant memory like bird flu and swine flu, we just have more panic this time.

In countries where they’ve managed to slow down and control transmission the death rate is much, much lower.
