What is the likelihood of someone creating a fake profile on tinder? It is really out of character for this person to be on there and some things don’t match up, like the location is their original location and they have lived there for over 5 years? And the profile interests are not the same? And to have the photo of his face out there really doesn’t make sense if he is trying not to get caught out? I don’t quite understand the app so I’m a bit lost!

There are lots of fake profiles. Is he married? Some people are a bit dumb too and don't realise other people they know could see it. I would just message the profile (can you do that?) Or message on another platform and be like,"hey what are you doing on Tinder!?". His response should tell you if its fake or not.
It could be a fake profile, but it could also be him! My sisters ex put his own pic on his profile, and put some bullshit info up. That’s why he is now an ex.
It never occurred to him that someone she knew would 1) see it, 2) tell her they’d seen it!
People who cheat aren’t always logical!
I’d try and match with him to see what happens.
Probably put some odd details already thinking he'll use that to say it's not him if he's caught. They lie, but think it through, what are the real chances a stranger has done this in the same place he lives or once lived?
Not likely. It does happen, but you have to put in a valid phone number or connect to a valid Facebook profile. Then you get sent a verification code.
