How does everyone organise their freezers espcially chest freezer to not have to chuck so much out of date things out. My new years resolution is to be more organised as I'm finally able to be a stay at home mum and only do a few hours of work in our small business a week. So I've decided 2020 is the year I get my act together and get organised.... I've been madly labelling and culling and just decided to do the dreaded chest freezer!!!! There was mince in there from 2018 ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜. How does any super organised ladies stop this from happening? I need inspiration please. Also I would love any handy little tricks people have come up with that you believe has made you life easier!

I rotate my meat when I buy new stuff, so pick it up and move the frozen stuff up and ontop of the new stuff. Occasionally we’ll have a bbq and use anything still in the freezer and I do my best to empty the whole thing out. On a regular basis so we’ve only got two serves of meat left and plan around those items and them get onto the refill.
I think it is important to rotate your food as you buy it like the previous poster said but to also not get carried away buying stuff just because it's on special or just because you have the space. I only buy stuff that I know I'm going to use within the next month or 2. Eg. If chicken is on special I will buy 3kg because I know I will use that within the month and realistically it will likely be on special again in 4-6 weeks anyway. I also do a 'stock take' every month or so, so I know exactly what is in there to avoid over buying or things getting 'lost' at the bottom.
I do monthly meal plans and only buy enough meat for that month. When I do the next months plan I check what is leftover in the freezer and include those meats in my meal plan
I write the date on masking tape and attach it to each item I put in the freezer! And like some other comments here, I also put the newer things at the bottom or the back of the freezer and bring older items closer so I don't forget about them and use them sooner. Makes organising so much easier and allows me to meal plan better for my family. I also use the cutest bento boxes for my kids lunches! 2020 is the year for organising.
