My husband and I decided to separate
I have agreed to leave the family home ( don’t need comments about this) but I’m wondering does anyone know of any grants or places I could go to get home stuff? Like a fridge and stuff?
I work a good job and earn decent money but don’t have to enough savings for everything so I’ll need some help
I’m in SA if that helps

You can see if you qualify for a nils loan for white goods? Other than that just pick up what you can cheap or free second hand. You can replace it all with new stuff as you get more established!
Op shops and second hand sites are great for this kind of situation. If you chose to leave and have a good job I can’t see you being able to get anything other than a personal loan.
Start with second hand (except mattresses). Gumtree, op shops, garage sales, friends selling/giving away things. Or rent somewhere furnished. You can replace as you can afford it. Don't go into debt & never, ever rent anything!!
I know people who never buy new because they can furnish their homes much cheaper if they're selective & quick about finding items as they're listed.
I will say, just be cautious buying second hand white goods. When I was young and poor, we bought a second hand washing machine and frigde. Both looked great, were fairly modern and I thought we'd scored a great bargain. We'd had them for around a month and both shit themselves within the same week!
So unless you can pick them up at a reputable second hand store where they've been tested, avoid buying them from places like fb market place/gumtree.
So my advice on top of that, look for cheap or give away furniture (beds, couches, tables etc) and use your money to buy a brand new fridge, even if it's just a small one. Utilise laundromats or ask a friend or relative if you could possibly use theirs while you save up for a washing machine.
Would you and your husband be able to divide up the furniture/belongings too? Presumably you both purchased them together, maybe negotiating who could keep what is possible just so you're not completely starting from scratch because that doesn't seem fair.
If there are children involved then who ever has them keeps all furniture
Um no that’s not how it works.
Definitely try a NILS loan but second hand is best. You don’t need much. Just some cheap new mattresses, they can be on the floor until you can afford beds.
If you’ve got a good job charities are going to see you as very low priority and with resources being redirected to KI and other fire effected areas.
