My migraines aren't technically cluster headaches (they're unexplained), but I saw a pain specialist & have a drug called Maxalt (rizatriptan). It's also used for clusters though. Kills about 90% of headaches & I only take it when I need it. I resisted the daily medication options as they'd never worked before & had side effects.
A pain management specialist took me seriously, did tests & tried different treatments a GP can't entertain. The GP now prescribes it for me.

Cluster Headaches are nothing like migraines. I see a Pain Specialist (for mediation), Neurologist (for Diagnosis) & Neurosurgeon (for implant). Many years of trying different medications, injections, physio. I do receive relief from Imigran injections, but they are very expensive. I have had a neurostimulator implanted in my head, which for me gives me a lot of relief. From 2-3 attacks daily to maybe 1 a fortnight. You have to see a Psychologist first, then have a trial surgery before permanent implant.
